How I work
All of my work is based on the basic principles of empathy, warmth and authenticity. I aim to provide a calm and safe space to facilitate your personal growth by helping you to identify the core challenges and setbacks in your life so that you can understand yourself and live life with confidence. To achieve this, I work using an integrative style of therapy and a range of therapeutic approaches, tailored to suit you and your specific needs, including:

-
Person Centred (Rogerian)
Exploring your perceptions of self and views of the world.
-
Herman's Trauma Model
A three-phase approach to working with trauma, based on stabilisation, processing and integration.
-
Existential
Focusing on existence in the world within the limits of the human condition, including identity, meaning-making and the freedom of choice.
-
Transactional Analysis
Understanding interactions concerning past experiences and identifying problem areas.

-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Exploring the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to remove destructive patterns.

-
Creative Therapies
Using artistic and creative interventions to explore emotions when words can be too overwhelming.
-
Attachment Theory
Exploring childhood attachments and patterns of relating to others.
-
Solution-focused Approaches
These are used for short-term work, including EAP and charity-funded clients.
